Packaging Basics
Package design begins with a concept and specification, developed by a packaging specialist. The design may be based on a standard system or a tailored specification. Once the design is established:
- Technical drawings are developed for production of a prototype
- Analysis is made for decisions on materials and processes
- A CAD technician works with the design to create a die
- Prototype is created and analyzed
- Process may be repeated or the design modified several times before a final product
